Mother's Day 2011

Mother's Day was great yesterday.  Jeremy and I went to the Swamp Shak on Friday and then walked around some of the shops on Kemah's Boardwalk.  Saturday, we had our annual family girls tea for Mother's Day at Sweet Tea Cafe' and Bar in the Heights.  We had a lot of fun.  Our party was smaller this year, but everyone is really busy now with kids and all.  Tammy & Misty joined me, mom, Renee' and Steph.  We also had Ashley, TJ, and Bryce with us.  We had a great time and the food was delicious!  I had the sampler plate with chicken salad, egg salad, and tuna.  Jenny gave us all of her desserts to sample and they were divine!  Yesterday (Sunday), we went to Kim Son in downtown Houston.  Mom, Larry, Steph, and TJ joined the four of us.

After the tea room, we went through some of the shops in the Heights and while in an Antique store...Bryce was getting very upset because he wanted to buy me something for Mother's Day and I kept telling him to save his money.  Nevertheless, I gave him a $20 bill (that I owed him - b/c I borrowed it when I needed cash for his camp & owed him $40)...he purchased the sweetest, prettiest tea cup and saucer.  When we got home, Brennan, Bryce, and I watched Tangled and then I was so ready for bed.  Bryce stayed up late and painted me a few pieces of art and then posted a note on my bathroom mirror that gave me directions for an "adventure" that he created for me.  He had me going all through the house with a stuffed animal set up in each room that gave me directions to the next room.  Finally, the last stop would be the living room where he had his monkey sitting on the couch with the tea cup & saucer between its legs.  It was so sweet!  His notes were adorable and I am so proud of his big, big heart!  Brennan gave me a lady bug and all of the guys gave me a sweet Tinkerbell card that sang, "I can fly".

So...now it's Monday and back to work.  I wanted to jot down these memories before I forgot!  I'm so blessed and thankful for my wonderful family!
